I feel with all this darkness surrounding us and to get away from the heavy load of writing against all odds I want to remind you and especially me that we are not alone in this struggle so I want as a musician provide you with simply a list of songs that have personal meaning to me and I want to share this with everyone.
Also I wanted to post something different and uplifting.
And I will provide a story to each song and what they mean to me.
Heaven 17.- Let Me Go.
The first song is from Sheffield Band Heaven 17.
I first heard this song at a friend of mine while playing cards.
I did not know who it was and I turned every stone until I found out.
It was quite different from anything I heard before and stands out to this day Lyrically and musically.
It set me onto a journey that will last forever and it is simply beautiful.
Being Boiled - Human League
Listen to the voice of Buddha
Saying stop your sericulture
Little people like your offspring
Boiled alive for some Gods stocking
Buddha's watching, Buddha's waiting
Just because the kid's an orphan
Is no excuse for thoughtless slaying
Children don't forget this torture
Just because you call her mother
Doesn't mean that she's your better
Lyrics that stand out to this day and hold its own forever together with simply one of the best dance floor anthems forever.
Political Lyrics in Pop music made by real people not the crap they serve today
The Lebanon - Human League
She is awakened by the screams
Of rockets flying from nearby
And scared, she clings onto her dreams
To beat the fear that she might die
He left his home the week before
He thought he'd be like the police
But now he finds he is at war
Weren't we supposed to keep the peace
And who will have won
When the soldiers have gone?
From the Lebanon, the Lebanon
Again the Human League with a song about war and the useless meaningless affair it is bringing only misery and suffering out of everyone.
I feel that especially in these times where we have politicians lying us into WW3 and a war in Ukraine that is perfectly clear to everyone is bullshit and created only as Behavioral Modification into tricking us into accepting the New World Order.
I for one will never accept this.
The Sex Pistols – God Save the Queen
The Sex Pistols must be included in this List....
And this is one of the greatest songs ever.
The Queen is dead... end the Monarchy.
King Charles killed Princess Diana and is a WEF stooge.
The Smiths - The Queen is dead
Keeping it with the theme... Manchester's Smiths are the perfect soundtrack for a music obsessed Literature boy like me who devoured books in his spare time.
Lyrically Morrissey is an Inspiration to this day... to eternity.
The Smiths will continue to inspire music even when I am dead.
The Smiths - Heaven knows I'm miserable now
I will always remember the days living in Stratham hill and dancing on acid to this wonderful song.
It is the song that speaks from my heart to my heart...
"You been in the House too long she said..."
Yes mum... I'm reading a book...
My father of all people kept a manuscript I wrote some 20 years ago... I didn't know he had it.
He told me I had talent... funny how things change.
My mother never cared about anything I did.
My father understood why I did what I did at last... even if it took him 100 years to do so.
Midnight Oil - Forgotten Years
Our sons need never be soldiers
Our daughters will never need guns
These are the years between
These are the years that were hard fought and won
Now, contracts torn at the edges
Old signatures stained with tears
Seasons of war and peace
These should not be forgotten years
The hardest years, the darkest years
The roarin' years, the fallen years
These should not be forgotten years
Is War peace? No it isn't.
For all those Idiots that do not understand that war is a failure of society listen to this song.
What really bugs me is that we have now openly the victims of the so called Holocaust... the Jews... actively engaging and supporting the Military Industrial Complex and calling for War in Iran war against Russia and WW3.
Fuck you... shame on you.
War is a crime... this must not be forgotten years.
Midnight Oil - In the Valley
Oilz... love 'em.
This song especially.
It is just such a personal beautiful song that I feel from heart to heart.
Also In this song I heard for the first time about the Montevideo Maru.
Montevideo Maru was a Japanese auxiliary ship that was sunk by the USN in World War II, resulting in the drowning of 1,054 Australians who were being transported from Rabaul to Hainan, in what is considered the worst maritime disaster in Australia's history
Auld Lang Syne
When the Montevideo Maru was sunk the Australians sung this song that took them down to their grave.
In respect for all the soldiers died there.
Also my Father was a great admirer of Scotland as am I and we sung this song together... I remember fondly.
The last Dictator - Crime & the City Solution
Crime & the City Solution are an Australian rock music band formed in late 1977 by singer-songwriter and mainstay Simon Bonney.
They are close Friends with Nick Cave Einstürzende Neubauten and related acts.
That's how I came to them.
Also in the Wim Wenders Film "Der Himmel über Berlin" C&CS performed.
Absolutely great Band.
Paradise Discoteque to this dfay is one of my all time favorite Albums... a Masterpiece.
The last Dictator is about Nicolae Ceaușescu the Romanian Communist Dictator.
Lyrically and musically a masterpiece.
Gene - For the dead
With every wind I hear you sing
"You will be fine"
With every note stuck in your throat
"This is your time", but
Everyone's just walking away from me
Am I really that nasty?
All the dust and the dirt affects my skin
Everyone's just turning away from me
Am I really that dirty?
It's dark and cold, so let me in
I'm in love with this land of plenty
Full of folk that still are friendly
I've lost my will, but still I see some hope
Give me a rope, I'll take it gladly
Find me a tree, make sure it's sturdy
Bye Ma!
It's my time to go
Yes, this one's for the dead.
The soundtrack of my life...
Am I really that Bad?
One thing I learned in my journey....
You are never as good as you think you are...
You are never as bad as other people tell you.
Lords Of The New Church - Open Your Eyes
Punk / Goth group of members of the Damned & Sham 69.
Open your eyes see the lies right in front of you.
Say it all doesn't it?
Cabaret Voltaire - Nag Nag Nag
Another Sheffield Band... raw and powerful.
Simply great and at that time the bleakness No future Generation learned to express themselves.
This was the most creative time in musical History ever.
Spermbirds - Try again
When everyday life starts to get you down
And your problems seem too many
When your job is shit, and the rent is due
And you're down to your last penny
Where do you go, who do you count on?
No place left to hide
When your parents don't like you
And they told you so
They wish that you had died
I look at you, and I know what to do
You got to get up in the morning
And try again
Not tomorrow, do it today
Young or old
It don't matter man
Don't let your life slip away
You gotta take a chance
Push yourself
Stand up for what you know is right
Don't take no shit from anyone
Let 'em know that you're ready to fight
A Band I grew up with fro K-Town Germany.
The singer Lee Hollis is a GI who was stationed there and got involved in the K-Town Punk Scene... great Band... Friends... a song that stands out... a band that stands out.
Arts & Decay - Sick of it all
Roger was the Guitarist of Spermbirds and Arts & Decay was another great Band from K-Town... I briefly had a band with the second Guitarist Elmar for a short time.
Great Lyrics great music.
The Jam - Eaton Rifles / Going Underground /That's Entertainment
Hello Hooray for the Eaton Rifles...
A song that represents the real problem of our society... the class struggle of not just our times but all times.
People Like Bush & Kerry who come out of Skull & Bones of Yale.
People Like Klaus Schwab coming out of Harvard.
People Like Boris Johnson who are from Oxford's "Bullington Club" who pay thousands of pounds / Dollars just to be in the Club and that is the only reason they are successful... they are born Rich and they hate you.
They are the Eaton Rifles... the Military Industrial Complex.
Going Underground and That's Entertainment are the other side of the coin... the struggle of the poor to make ends meat.
Our Struggle.
The Jam... great Band.
The Style Council - Shout to the Top / Walls come tumbling down
There is a line in the movie "Ip Man"...
"My wife never spoke much, because she knew the power of words..."
Governments crack and systems fall 'Cause unity is powerful
Shout to the Top
Are there any more powerful words spoken except maybe "I love you"?
We're the first to fight, we're the first to die
'And the last to find the bloody reason why
'Again and again since I don't know when
The first to die has always been the working man
Haymaker are a Skinhead Band making good old Oi Punk.
But Lyrics matter.
Truth matters.
And this song speaks Truth like no other.
Grauzone - Eisbär
Simple song... one of the best.
Grauzone was a Swiss Band that were way ahead of their time.
Makes me dance just by thinking of it.
Echo & the Bunnymen - The Cutter
Spare us the Cutter... couldn't cut the mustard...
What can i say about this Band?
I could have taken Clay or I could have taken the Killing Moon but this album Porcupine the way they dressed the beautiful drums it all matters.
Icicle Works - Hollow Horse
Be careful what you dream of
It may come up and surprise you
I can't confess my life's a mess
I've come to idolise you
You liken it to walking on hot coals
I'll keep my boots on
Wisen up and fly straight
There's a shape on the horizon
In a hollow horse I'll steal my way
Onside your guarded heart
So selfishly the needs I harbour
When we are apart
My past strung out behind me
Contradiction and disaster
I'm in search of charity
A union I could master
We'll be as we are
When all the fools
Who doubt us fade away
We be as we are when all the fools who doubt us fade away...
I have this written on my grave.
New Order - Regret
Maybe I've forgotten the name and the address
Of everyone I've ever known, it's nothing I regret
I would like a place I could call my own
Have a conversation on the telephone
Wake up every day, that would be a start
I would not complain of my wounded heart
I was upset, you see, almost all the time
You used to be a stranger, now you are mine
What can I say about one of the greatest Bands ever?
What can I say about one of the greatest songs ever?
Nothing I regret.
Joy Division - Atmosphere
Walk in silence
Don't walk away, in silence
See the danger, always danger
Endless talking, life rebuilding
Don't walk away
Your confusion
my Illusion
worn like a mask of self hate
confronts and then dies
People like you
find it easy
acing to see
Walking on air
Joy division were a Band that became New Order.
Ian Curtis committed suicide a day before they went on tour to America.
Atmosphere is one of the most beautiful tracks ever written.
I made a cover version of this song long ago... still have it.
Love the man... love his Lyrics... love the music.
Joy Division - New Dawn Fades
The first song I played with my first Band.
A song that speaks for itself... even Moby covered it...
Stiff Little Fingers Nobody's Hero
I ain't nobodies hero....
Great Band Great song
The Triffids - Wide open Road
Well, the drums rolled off in my forehead
The guns went off in my chest
Remember carrying the baby just for you
Crying in the wilderness
I lost track of my friends, I lost my kin
I cut them off as limbs
I drove out over the flatland
Hunting down you and him
The sky was big and empty
My chest filled to explode
I yelled my insides out at the sun
At the wide open road
When I think of Australia I think of this song.
The Go Betweens - Bye Bye Pride / Quiet Heart
The Go betweens are one of my all time favorite bands.
Especially these two songs.
The heater's on
The windows are thin
I'm trying hard
To keep this warmth in
I turn to her
She's sound asleep
Someplace I don't know
Doesn't matter how far you come
You've always got further to go
Doesn't matter how far you come You've always got further to go...
Eric Bogle
How could I nearly forgot this man?
One of the greatest Anti War Singer / Songwriter ever?
The landing at Suvla Bay… I learned from this song.
The Men they couldn’t hang covered this song…. The Green Fields of France
I also play this song… one of my all time favorites
And one more song by Eric Bogle… My youngest son.
This is a cover version by German Punk Band Slime.
Great band Great Song
XTC - Peter Pumpkinhead
XTC…. what a great Band… what a great song.
And he made too many enemies….
Of the people who would keep us on our knees….
Sounds like me….
The Video is about the assassination of JFK
Elliot Smith - Ballad of Big Nothing
Throwing candy out to the crowd
Dragging down the main
The helpless little thing with the dirty mouth
Who's always got something to say
You're sitting around at home now waiting for your brother to call
I saw him down in the alley, having had enough of it all
"You can do what you want to whenever you want to
You can do what you want to, there's no one to stop you"
All spit and spite, you're up all night and down every day
A tired man with only hours to go just waiting to be taken away
Getting into the back of a car for candy from some stranger
Watching the parade with pinpoint eyes full of smoldering anger
You can do what you want to whenever you want to
You can do what you want to there's no one to stop you
Elliot Smith is a sad story about what I call a Genius.
He’s music is simply great as is his contribution to Good Will Hunting.
Say Yes.
Linkin Park - In the End
(It starts with one) One thing, I don't know why
It doesn't even matter how hard you try
Keep that in mind, I designed this rhyme
To explain in due time all I know
Time is a valuable thing
Watch it fly by as the pendulum swings
Watch it count down to the end of the day
The clock ticks life away, it's so unreal (It's so unreal)
Didn't look out below
Watch the time go right out the window
Tryin' to hold on, didn't even know
I wasted it all just to watch you go
[Pre-Chorus: Mike Shinoda]
I kept everything inside
And even though I tried, it all fell apart
What it meant to me will eventually be
A memory of a time when I tried so hard
I tried so hard and got so far
But in the end it doesn't even matter
I put my trust in you
Bob Marley - Redemption Song
Old pirates, yes, they rob I
Sold I to the merchant ships
Minutes after they took I
From the bottomless pit
But my hand was made strong
By the hand of the Almighty
We forward in this generation
Triumphantly
Won't you help to sing
These songs of freedom?
'Cause all I ever have
Redemption songs
Redemption songs
Now these last two songs have a very special meaning for me.
Redemption Song I play on the guitar and when i lived with Nigerian people together and i took my Guitar out and played it to them we instantly became friends.
Later when I was in Malaysia imprisoned I sang both of those songs to my fellow prison mates.
The guards didn't like it I didn't care.
I sang this song because I am the Revolution.
You have to kill me to shut me up.
Addendum.
Mo Li Hua - Jasmine Flower
I love China.
I spend five years in China Hong Kong not included.
I speak Chinese and I love the Land and I love the people.
The people of China are simple folk very family orientated and very loving even they seem to me sometimes like chicken with their head cut off.
In my heart I miss the country the language and the people.
They are good people.
I love the Language which is one of the oldest in the world… like a whisper.
The CCP however are not Chinese…
They are Manchu.
They are Khazars.
They came from the Caspien Sea to settle in Manchuria and when they gained strength they took over China which belongs to the Han people
The Khazars were a mixture of Jews and Israelites from the Ten Tribes. They were related to Western Peoples who are also descended from the Ten Tribes.
The Manchu are more related to the Rothschilds than to the Chinese Han.
I learned about this when I worked on a German Translation for “The Deer and The Cauldron”.
Wei Xiaobao the little Hero is the offspring of a Prostitute and somehow becomes best friends with Emperor Kang Xi.
The Manchu replaced Imperialism with Communism on behalf of the Rothschilds to stay in power to this day.
So I share with you this musical journey and some of the songs that mean to me the world.
And I want all of you to know that all of the struggle we experience others had to endure before us.
And some of the greatest songs come out of struggle.
And we will rise as one like the phoenix from the ashes.
Because we have the power.
The power of Music.
The power of love.
Goodspeed
Fritz Freud.
